Romantic Beach wedding

My sister’s wedding festivities are inching closer! and I am getting so so excited!

Read HERE for their incredible proposal story!

Since our family is from Texas and his from Florida, and they know live in Birmingham, they decided on mutual ground and are getting married at Bentley’s on the Bay in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. It is going to be gorgeous I cannot wait!

She chose colors that I think are perfect for the beach, brown and blue!

It will look a little like this except my dress is more of a turquoise color and the men won’t have jackets (sorry I don’t want to share actual photos until after)

I love looking at pictures for beach weddings, they are so romantic and there are so many cute ideas

I am a little sad because her first shower is in Birmingham tomorrow ON HER BIRTHDAY and I can’t be there.

So to my sister, I love you so much I wish so badly I could be there. Have a wonderful shower and birthday!!

Have any of you been or had a beach wedding?? Any tips or ideas to share?

more shoes, please

I have a relatively small closet (for me at least) ;) and I like to change things up, my sister and I would SWITCH rooms every couple of months. I’m sure we gave our parents such a headache! so lately I have been thinking about a different way to display/store my shoes.

Right now I have them stacked on a 5 tier wire shoe rack in my closet that sits under where my belts & scarfs hang…

image

Here are some other ideas I found:

image

I love how organized these clear boxes look

image

another idea for putting in boxes: include a picture on the front so you can easily find the pair you want!

image

inside of an ottoman – love that!

But all of these ideas hide your shoes away… I would love to display mine out in the open!

like this

image

in a bookcase – this would be great in an office, dressing room, or if you had a large enough closet, like this….

image

image

or on a smaller scale, just put some of your favorite pairs on a book case in your room

or this…

image

Pick some of your favorite shoes and display them in a china cabinet

image

image

turn them sideways for more of a “shoe boutique” feel

or how about on the wall?

image

the shoes are hung there by moldings attached to the wall.

it would look something like this

image

or how about on a ladder??

image

I love the china cabinet idea but I already have a book case in my room so I think I may empty one of the middle shelves and display a few of my favorite pairs. I love shoes and you should always display what inspires you and brings you bliss!

How do you store your shoes? or do you have them on display?

I’d love to see!

Put a skirt on it

Every since moving back in with my old roomies Lori, John & Brian (aka Mom, Dad & Brother) I have been filled with dilemma on how to decorate and arrange my bedroom because it is one of the only places that is JUST for me. I have the decor part down.. I love what I have done with my room *a post about my bargain finds will be up soon!* But my biggest dilemma has been my desk area! I kills me that I have to keep my desk in my bedroom but I am in college and need a place for my books/laptop etc..

I want a space that is pretty and doesn't look like a cluttered school desk but I need lots of storage! so my question has been how can I incorporate an efficient, but pretty desk area in my bedroom!?

Some of my thoughts have been to get rid of the desk entirely and perhaps just get a bookshelf to store all my things or to just suck it up and fulfill my desks simple dream of being a desk... a

I have come to the conclusion I just need to suck it up and allow my desk to live its purpose but it HAS to be pretty so I am leaning towards something like this...

genius! I could skirt my desk and keep storage hidden away underneath

image

Leaving the top looking clean!

I think this is the best solution for a glamorous desk area (as glamorous as a desk can be!) until I can have a real office of my own! As a matter of fact this would be a great solution to hide anything you don't want out in the open!

so what do you think?
Where is your desk and what are some ways you keep it organized and clutter free!?
and do you have anything skirted in your home??

All caught up!

Almost caught up on my missed days of Cait’s Blog challenge! Here are days 14, 15 and 16. Enjoy!

Day 14 - A picture of someone you could never imagine your life without

{warning: very sappy stuff ahead}

bradandjenny4

Every since I met this handsome guy my life has been completely different! I LOVE thinking about the day we met because it was such an unexpected breath of fresh air. We met through friends of friends at a totally random last minute pool day (that both of us almost didn’t go to!) He walked straight over to me, introduced himself, and we immediately clicked like we had known each other forever! We hung out, talked and had so much fun all day together. I remember it was so easy and natural and within hours I think we both knew something very special was about to begin. He took me out on our first date a few nights later where we talked for hours and have been inseparable ever since! Some things that I love about him are that he makes me laugh CONSTANTLY.. we are super goofy together and have jokes that only we would find funny, he has such a passion for cooking (major points from the get-go) and owning his family’s restaurant one day and he LOVES his family so much (seeing him with his nieces and nephews are priceless moments for me!) I could go on and on so I will just stop there… I really could not imagine my life without him today!

Day 15 - A picture of something you want to do before you die

n1529730507_30675483_1102

Skydiving was my big one thing to do before I die, and although I have already checked that one off... I still don’t consider myself off the hook because instead of landing here…

image

I want to be landing here…

image

So before I die, I will skydive in the most gorgeous place on Earth instead of a pig sty!

Okay, so it wasn’t really a pig sty but it was a big bland open field and I think there were some pigs off in the corner…

Day 16 - A picture of someone who inspires you

image

{Beth Moore}

I look up to a lot of wonderful, strong women but one woman who really inspires me is this woman, Beth Moore. If you don’t know her, you should definitely look into her books!! She is a woman’s speaker and author who has a passion for not only loving the Lord but also helping women love themselves and others! She is so honest and real that if you ever feel down or you are having a bad day, simply reading excerpts from her books put everything in perspective, at least for me. She cuts straight to the point about how we were created and how we should live as women and treat other women. She really inspires me to be a better woman, sister, friend and an all around helpless person. Love you, Beth!!

Stay tuned for my shopping finds woohoo!!

What’s been bringin’ me bliss

I’m not sure if anyone is out there reading but if you have been, sorry I have been a little MIA. It’s funny how those 10 page papers sneak up on you out of nowhere Winking smile

It has been a LONG couple of days.. but after a few of these

image

I am feeling MUCH better…

*I know, I know, it’s a Tuesday but hey, it is National Margarita Day so I HAD to pay tribute to one of my favorite drinks.

Anywho, I wanted to share what has been bringing me bliss this week (besides the ritas, obviously)

1. Wearing clothes that I considered throwing away, only to be pleasantly surprised with multiple compliments!

I started a new goal when I was cleaning out and rearranging my closet this weekend and that was to start saving more money and wear what I have! I tend to get in the habit of wearing the same outfits in a cycle and when I get sick of them, I huff and puff that I have NOTHING to wear and decide that I just HAVE to go shopping. Does this sound familiar?? Well I realized that was a really bad habit that I needed to kick! Therefore, I arranged my closet by color and decided to simply start on the left and work my way down!

Here was the outcome for work on Monday

OOTD

shoes

Black Cardigan – Target

Ruffle blouse – Loehmanns

Black Pants – Express

Shoes – Steve Madden

So what do you think??

I haven’t worn the blouse or the shoes in months because the “mustardy” color is sort of out of my comfort zone (I tend to wear black, brown, or red). But I had multiple people tell me how cute I looked and some even asked if I went shopping this weekend! I’m telling you people, what a quick and CHEAP concept! Instead of running out and spending money on more clothes to stuff in your closet, simply start wearing the items you haven’t touched in a while – this is sure to not only save you tons of cash but also renew a love for an outfit you may have forgotten about!

2. A new manicure

image

and even better, it was FREE!

well.. not completely. On Friday I went to the nail salon and tried the new Shellac nails.

image

If you haven’t heard of this new technique, it is the new UV3 technique that goes on as easily as nail polish but is SUPPOSED to be chip-free for 14 days. My sister had good results from hers but needless to say after 2 days mine were already coming off completely. I was really disappointed, but I was willing to give them a second chance and they were forced happy to give me a new set of nails.. I forgive you, Nails Beautiful.

3. Rodeo Season is here, y’all!

image

One of my favorite times of the year! I AM SO EXCITED.

Well, that is all I am giving you for now because The Rodeo deserves an entire post for itself. it is that great.

Goodnight!
