Issues

I have commitment issues. Not in my relationships, thank god. But with big ticket house items. I tend to have design ADD. I get bored with a room/color schemes and want to switch them up all the time. Poor husband. Rugs and accessories get moved around on the daily around here.

I have been on the lookout for a show stopping entry rug for some time. Entry ways are one of my favorite spaces, they are a guests first impression of your home! Originally I wanted a punch of color and pattern, something like these

Scroll Tile Rug - Orange

Rugs USA Satara Modern Damask Grey Rug

Shaw Pacifica Blake Antique Gold Rug

But the commitment phobe in me had to remind myself, You have issues, choosing a colorful or trendy rug would probably not be my smartest move given that I will want to move it around my home in the future. I can always add color to my entry with a mirror and accessories! Finally I spotted a gorgeous rug, and took the plunge!

I love it! Not too busy and a nice neutral color so I can use it in any room in my house!

Can’t wait to meet her in person. Hopefully we will have a long lasting relationship.

We are off to Horseshoe Bay again! See you in a week!

Eye candy for a week of hibernation

sorry for the lack of blog posts it has been looking a whole lot like this outside….

which basically makes me want to do nothing all. day. long. sorry bout it. me and rain don’t get along.

Fortunately for me, I have kept up my workouts every morning! which makes me feel a little less of a bum, but unfortunately for hubs, that’s just about all I’ve done… whoops!

I have found some new blogs during my week of hibernation which to me makes for an efficient week, right?

Sadie and Stella

It is rare when I find design inspiration that I feel like is exactly my style because I like eclectic, antique one-of-a-kind pieces but also traditional colors and even a touch of modern fabrics. I’ve never known what to even call my “style”. I believe some call it transitional. But I have found myself drooling over every single image at Sadie and Stella and thinking that is exactly my style!

a little bit eclectic, traditional and modern!

and again, nailed it. not many people would think you could throw that trunk in with the modern chairs and the different hues of blue and green, love it!!

I mean come on, abstract painting, traditional headboard, mix of patterns, ANTLERS for crying out loud. genius!

and excuse me, her DIY nailhead runner. I just about lost it.

I could go on and on, so until this rain stops, drooling over at Sadie and Stella is where I’ll be…

Frugal Find Friday

Anyone else feel like its Tuesday?? July 4th falling on a Wednesday was a little crazy. but I kinda liked it, 2 days on, 1 day off, 2 days on, 2 days off. I think it could work. No one would get anything done. ever. but It could work.

Our 4th was perfect. Poolside, booze, food and fireworks, and family.

And a cute little sailor girl

This is her first of three 4th of July outfits I had for her. haha. this chick is gonna hate me before she’s 5.

Anyway this weeks frugal find is bit of a lazy one, I’m sure you have seen it around blog land but IMO has to be one of my fave frugal finds in history.
