I spy with my little eye

If yall read Bailey’s blog you know you could never forget when she finally displayed Clifford to the world and we were introduced to a SHEEP in her living room. I thought it was so intriguing, unique and humorous. What a conversation piece! But I definitely thought it was something I would NEVER do being a traditional gal.

However as I thought about it, why wouldn’t I do something like that!? What I love about Bailey’s designs is that she follows NO rules whatsoever. She uses so many different colors, textures and patterns but it all comes together because she makes it her OWN. I have really been drawn to decorating that has evolved into making a space personal and unique rather than following rules about what patterns to use or what colors “match”. Adding little unexpected surprises in a room is a sure fire way to make the room all your own, and something your guests have never seen before!

So can you spy the little unexpected surprises in these rooms?

Instead of opting for basic wallpaper, this room has a screen behind the couch. A 3-D wallpaper, if you will. Or use the screen in the middle of a large room to create two separate spaces!

love the brick floor and the barn house doors!

or how about a stenciled wood floor?

We are used to seeing different chairs at the head of the table but this table has 6 totally different chairs. I love it! and the ceiling!

Check out the bottom of this couch. This designer added fabric trim to dress up a basic couch!

on the left this person used drawers as shelves, how unique!

Whether it is a life size dog, or the types of doors in a room, Don’t these little touches make the room so much more interesting and unique!

Do you have anything unique and unexpected in your home?

How do you make a room all your own?
