Eye candy for a week of hibernation

sorry for the lack of blog posts it has been looking a whole lot like this outside….

which basically makes me want to do nothing all. day. long. sorry bout it. me and rain don’t get along.

Fortunately for me, I have kept up my workouts every morning! which makes me feel a little less of a bum, but unfortunately for hubs, that’s just about all I’ve done… whoops!

I have found some new blogs during my week of hibernation which to me makes for an efficient week, right?

Cara loren

Gorgeous blogger who posts really cute and trendy outfits

AWESOME hair tutorials

{my hair on day 3! amaze!}

and adorable photos of her family!

{Picture perfect, right?}

go check her out!

Sadie and Stella

It is rare when I find design inspiration that I feel like is exactly my style because I like eclectic, antique one-of-a-kind pieces but also traditional colors and even a touch of modern fabrics. I’ve never known what to even call my “style”. I believe some call it transitional. But I have found myself drooling over every single image at Sadie and Stella and thinking that is exactly my style!

a little bit eclectic, traditional and modern!

and again, nailed it. not many people would think you could throw that trunk in with the modern chairs and the different hues of blue and green, love it!!

I mean come on, abstract painting, traditional headboard, mix of patterns, ANTLERS for crying out loud. genius!

and excuse me, her DIY nailhead runner. I just about lost it.

I could go on and on, so until this rain stops, drooling over at Sadie and Stella is where I’ll be…

Bailey Anne: 2 Months

Weight 11 lbs 12 oz, 23 in. long

Clothes 0-3, size 1 diapers

During the day she is eating every 3 hours, during the night anywhere from 4-7 hours. We had our first 7 hour night this month. It was incredible!!! Although I did wake up multiple times and check if she was breathing.

She is doing so much better at napping as I have created more of a routine. I like to follow a routine but usually stress if I set my routine too strict, since she is still young I have a routine of what we do but not at certain times due to different wake up times, etc. It is pretty much Eat, play, nap, repeat. Play is either tummy time, laying on her play mat, swinging (which she loves now) or an outing.

Personality: She smiles and laughs so much now, and tries so hard to talk to us and mimic what our mouths are doing.

She is a curious girl and very observant. It is hilarious when I walk with you, you turn your head back and forth back and forth real fast to look at everything we are passing. You will stare at your toys, mirrors, etc for a few minutes but a lot of your time is spent starting at ceiling fans, light fixtures (it is hilarious to watch your face when we turn it off and on), the couch, paintings, and other things around our home. Makes me think you could maybe have a love for home décor just like your momma!

We have had a lot more outings this month as you have started to like your car seat and the car much more, We have been to home goods quite a bit, academy, target, various other stores, and your first girls night!

She also had her first road trip this month, to Horseshoe bay! She did amazingly well, I was so proud! We only had to stop once on the way up there and didn’t even have to stop on the way home!! I was nervous at first but now feel confident about taking future trips!

My road to bliss

When I started blogging I was at a crossroads with where my life was headed so I appropriately named my blog “The Road to Bliss” to help chronicle my journey at finding bliss in every aspect of my life.

So, naturally when I got engaged, married and had Bailey, I debated for weeks on changing my blog name. Because I now, had found bliss.

Happiness

Even though I am happier than I have ever been, I began thinking that no matter where we are in our lives we should always be on the road to bliss. We should never arrive there and just stop. Life doesn’t stop. We need to be constantly challenging ourselves, trying new things, creating new hobbies, making new friends, always striving to be a better person, Christian, friend, wife and mom. All of which will continue to bring more and more bliss into our lives every day!  You’ll never hear anyone say they have too much bliss in their lives!

So I ask you friends, are you on your road to bliss?

here are 3 ways to break out of your same old, same old and bring in some more bliss!

1. make a new friend/reconnect with old friends or commit to seeing your current friends more

Seek out other bloggers in your area, contact old friends you haven’t seen in a while. Both of which I am committed to doing this summer! I have such a fun group of bloggers (Htown bloggers) in my area that meet up each month and I have never been (for shame) but come July, I will be there! I also just learned a friend from elementary school just moved into my neighborhood and another moved nearby! We have all said we will get together. but I am committed to making that happen! I am also committing to seeing my current friends more often, we all get so busy and live all over the city  so its easy to go weeks without seeing them! Not any longer! I went over to one of my best friends houses last night to catch up and hang out

2. Find a new hobby: try a new workout

I recently tried Zumba for the first time. I almost chickened out and just went to my trusty old treadmill but I challenged myself and am SO glad that I did. That had to be the most fun I have ever had working out. and even bigger plus, I am pretty sore which in workout code means its working, right?….

Zumba, Zumba, Zumba, Zumba!!

I should look like this in no time, no? I am excited to continue going to a class I love and there are many more I can’t wait to try!

‘3. clear the clutter/revamp some old furniture

Clean out your closets, garage, even your car. Clearing the clutter will instantly give you a mood booster! And could possibly make you some cash! Have a garage sale, a blog sale, or take your items to a store like Plato’s closet where they will buy your gently used clothes. Or just do your good deed for the day and donate them!

You could go an even further step and revamp an old piece of furniture, a mirror or even some picture frames. It’s amazing what a can of paint (even spray) can do!

I don’t have a photo of my actual chairs before (shame) but picture something like this

old chipped pair of awful

bring in a small can of paint, fabric and a staple gun

Brand “New” chairs!

How are you bringing bliss into your life?
