In honor of this great day I wanted to share the fish taco recipe I tried last night - it was SO easy - took about 20 minutes to do everything and they were SO yummy!!!

First things first, as you all know there were AWFUL tornados that affected several states last week. My sister lives in Birmingham, Alabama and THANK GOD she is fine. However, there are thousands that are not. A few people who I know personally lost a friend in the storms and had their homes destroyed. I thought Hurricane Ike was bad!! (I went 16 days without electricity & water) but I cannot even imagine what these people are going through. I know friends who were supposed to graduate college this month and now cannot, many having to leave their homes behind, some even losing everything they owned or even worse, a daughter, son, or friend. My heart aches for all the people affected by these awful storms so we gotta help them out, people!! Here’s how:
Now…I do sincerely apologize for my absence lately, like I said I was going through some pretty BIG stuff, then had to deal with finals but now I’m doing much better and BACK to blogging!!
Here is what I’ve been loving lately:
1. Houston weather lately has been un-freaking-believable. I probably shouldn’t talk about it, but it has been in the 70’s SUNNY, WINDY and gorgeous!! Perfect patio sitting, outside running, tanning weather!! LOOOOOVE it!
2. Skinny girl ritas! If you have been reading you should know I LOVE my margaritas. So naturally, I finally came across a liquor store that had Bethenny’s bottled skinny girl ritas and they are SO yummy! And just in time for Cinco De Mayo tomorrow – woohoo!! Love this holiday- an excuse for MEXICAN food & ritas – YES please… and add this gorgeous weather to the mix – I will be one happy girl tomorrow!
Well, actually tonight! I am starting the Cinco De Mayo festivities early and trying a new recipe – fish tacos!! YUM! I’ll post pictures and a recipe tomorrow (if all goes well)

Today I decided to link up for Fashion Fridays
and since it is so bright and sunny here today it makes me want think of this…
so this fashion Friday is dedicated to must haves for summer because well, down here in Texas, it is summer for about 7 months out of the year!
you MUST have some white jeans. Find a pair that fit very well - they make you look so thin (I love my Joe’s white jeans) and they go with everything! you can dress them down for the day or up for a night out!
casual
Dressy
I know this trend was in last year but I don’t follow what’s “in” or “out” really, I just wear what I like! and I LOVE the one- shoulder trend. I think it is so feminine and sexy without showing too much!
Another must have is a bag! Usually white is the go to summer bag but I say nude is the new white!
Go Shopping:
Speaking of nude… I am known to own 4 a couple of pairs of nude pumps. I am big about matching and nude pumps go with ANY color!
I am ordering these today! what a steal!
so there you have it.. if you see a blonde chick around town sporting white jeans, a one shouldered top, a nude bag & pumps say hello! because that is what you’ll find me in all summer long! well, when I’m not in my swimmies…
Happy Friday! off to lay out at the pool
PS: My followers have not been sky rocketing to say the least, is anyone reading?? If you are, THANK YOU so much and if you do follow me THANK YOU!! But if you aren’t a follower please, just click that little follow button…it is painless, I promise!
I’m linking up to Semi Wordless Wednesday over at Flip Flops & Pearl’s because I don’t really think these pictures need any words! The wedding weekend was filled with so much love, laughter, family, friends, booze and happiness and you know what they say… a picture says a thousand words!
Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. McConnell!!!
