HOTD: Braided

My HOTD comes from inspiration from these ladies..

{I love this one!!}

I love the braided look! It is perfect for Summer and you can make it dressy or casual. It is also so great for when you just want to pull your hair back.. it gives the basic ponytail a little somethin' extra.

Here is my version:

I definitely need to work with it a little more to perfect it... but, not bad for a 2 minute hairstyle on my way out the door, right!?

Spring has sprung!

Spring has arrived...just ask my sinuses! BLAH...
But the wonderful things about Spring springing are..

1. Springing forward.. how AWESOME is it to get home from work and it is still light out! I feel like I have so much more time to do things in the evening!

2. My birthday will be here next month!! No plans yet, but I have no doubt it will be a blast!

3. Flowers will soon be blooming! I love flowers (hydrangeas and roses are my favorite!) so when I saw this baby shower on Honey We're Home that her friend Erin threw I just died for that flower arrangement and had to make it my new background - what do you think?? so springy!

4. Warm weather will be here soon which means I can partake in one of my favorite past times again..

Nothing is more relaxing to me than laying out by the pool with some music, friends and cocktails, of course! I love, love, love to be tan and can't wait to get out there and catch some cancer rays!

Speaking of pool weather here are some swim suits I want this season!

Victoria's Secret has so many gorgeous swimsuits to choose from! Which one do you like??

By the way I think I have found out Victoria's Secret and that is to throw up your food .. I mean, come on.... WHO really looks like that?? ;)

5. I can wear white again!! Technically you are not supposed to wear white pants/shoes until after Easter and up until Labor Day...I may have broken this rule a little bit already (My rule is that you can wear white starting March and until Halloween) because I LOVE my white jeans and I actually just got a new pair of white Joe's Jeans that I love even more than my current pair so I am excited to wear them all Spring and Summer!

Almost caught up on my missed days of Cait’s Blog challenge! Here are days 14, 15 and 16. Enjoy!

Day 14 - A picture of someone you could never imagine your life without

{warning: very sappy stuff ahead}

Every since I met this handsome guy my life has been completely different! I LOVE thinking about the day we met because it was such an unexpected breath of fresh air. We met through friends of friends at a totally random last minute pool day (that both of us almost didn’t go to!) He walked straight over to me, introduced himself, and we immediately clicked like we had known each other forever! We hung out, talked and had so much fun all day together. I remember it was so easy and natural and within hours I think we both knew something very special was about to begin. He took me out on our first date a few nights later where we talked for hours and have been inseparable ever since! Some things that I love about him are that he makes me laugh CONSTANTLY.. we are super goofy together and have jokes that only we would find funny, he has such a passion for cooking (major points from the get-go) and owning his family’s restaurant one day and he LOVES his family so much (seeing him with his nieces and nephews are priceless moments for me!) I could go on and on so I will just stop there… I really could not imagine my life without him today!

Day 15 - A picture of something you want to do before you die

Skydiving was my big one thing to do before I die, and although I have already checked that one off... I still don’t consider myself off the hook because instead of landing here…

I want to be landing here…

So before I die, I will skydive in the most gorgeous place on Earth instead of a pig sty!

Okay, so it wasn’t really a pig sty but it was a big bland open field and I think there were some pigs off in the corner…

Day 16 - A picture of someone who inspires you

{Beth Moore}

I look up to a lot of wonderful, strong women but one woman who really inspires me is this woman, Beth Moore. If you don’t know her, you should definitely look into her books!! She is a woman’s speaker and author who has a passion for not only loving the Lord but also helping women love themselves and others! She is so honest and real that if you ever feel down or you are having a bad day, simply reading excerpts from her books put everything in perspective, at least for me. She cuts straight to the point about how we were created and how we should live as women and treat other women. She really inspires me to be a better woman, sister, friend and an all around helpless person. Love you, Beth!!

Day 11 - A picture of something you hate dislike

{I was taught at a young age that hate is an ugly word.. so I changed it hah}

agh.. my skin is crawling just thinking about Jell-O! I strongly, strongly dislike Jell-O, gummy words and anything with that texture! When I tell people who try to give me Jell-O shots that I really cannot take them they are always like “come on, man up” but seriously the taste and texture of Jell-O will make me vomit. so if you try to make me take one, prepare to be thrown up on… just sayin’…

Day 12 - A picture of something you love

Sticking with the food theme… I LOVE chocolate especially dark chocolate! 

Day 13 - A picture of your favorite band or artist

hmm.. this is hard! I love pretty much all music.. being from the south of course I have a strong love for country music, love a good dance beat and you know I love ballads and songs from musicals so I’ll just share some pictures of some of my favorites..

Love listening to the Glee Pandora station at work..  there have been multiple songs where I didn’t like the original version but now love the Glee version!

It took me a while to warm up to her but it was hard to stay away for long. Her laughter and smile is infectious and her songs are so girly and fun. I also love that she obviously doesn’t give a flip what anyone thinks about her!

My favorite tunes when working out and guaranteed to start a dance party!

I also love Michael Buble, Darius Rucker, Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz and so many more!

I’m back!!

Hi loves! I have sure missed blogging but I had so much fun on my little getaway to visit my sister in Birmingham!!

The 5 day getaway was filled with eating some YUMMY food, drinking some great wine, shopping (I will share my finds in a later post), relaxing, laughing, and last but certainly not least… the highlight of my trip was finding my sister’s wedding dress!

It was honestly an unreal experience, we went to ONE store and as soon as we walked in the woman helping us (who used to work at Kleinfeld’s in New York and was AWESOME) immediately knew my sister’s dress and cup size by simply looking at her and then picked out the dress she knew would look amazing on her within 2 minutes of us being there. Believe it or not, she was SO right and as soon as my sister put it on we all knew it was the one! It was so incredible. Just to be sure she tried on about 5 more but none of them came close or gave any of us the same feeling as that first one so she said YES to the dress  

I wish I could share pictures because it is INCREDIBLE and was made for my sister… but you will just have to wait until April 21, 2012!
